Getting to Disneyland Paris by train from Bussy-Saint-Georges

One line, no changes, a 7-minute ride. Here is how to reach the parks from our apartments, and what to know before you board.

One line, no changes

Bussy-Saint-Georges is served by the RER A, the line that runs straight from the eastern edge of the Paris region into the city centre, calling at Disneyland Paris on the way. That is what makes the town worth considering for a park holiday: you get on the train and you get off at your destination. No connection, no bus, no shuttle to wait for.

The station for the parks is called Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy. It sits right at the entrance, between the two parks and the Disney Village: step off the train, walk a few minutes, and you are there.

Bussy-Saint-Georges station is in zone 5, the same as the parks. Both stations therefore fall in the same fare zone, which makes choosing a ticket simpler.

How long it takes

From our apartments, allow 4 minutes on foot to reach the station, then:

  • 7 minutes to Disneyland Paris (Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy);
  • 3 minutes to La Vallée Village and the Val d’Europe shopping centre;
  • 35 minutes to central Paris (Châtelet–Les Halles).

Door to door, from the apartment to the park gates, that comes to around twenty minutes including the walk and the wait for a train. Often less than the time spent getting out of a car park on the far side of the resort.

That short ride changes one thing above all: coming back in the middle of the day becomes realistic. With small children, being able to return for a nap and head out again late afternoon saves a good many difficult evenings.

Train frequency, and getting back after the show

Trains run every 10 to 15 minutes depending on the time of day and the direction of travel. At peak times the wait rarely exceeds ten minutes.

The question of the last train comes up often, and the answer is reassuring: the last departure from Disneyland towards Bussy-Saint-Georges is around 00:20, while the parks never close later than 23:20. You can stay for the night show and right through to closing without watching the clock — the hour the last train leaves you is more than enough.

From Paris, the last train out of Châtelet–Les Halles leaves around 00:35.

Which ticket to buy

A single train journey costs €2.50 and stays valid for 2 hours, with connections to the Paris metro only. Children aged 4 to 9 inclusive pay €1.25, and under-4s travel free.

One point that catches visitors out: once you leave the station, the ticket is spent. You need a new one to travel again. For a day at the parks, plan one outward and one return ticket per person.

If you are staying several days and also plan to visit Paris, a weekly pass often works out better than a pile of single tickets. In practice that means the Navigo Découverte pass: a personal card, bought at the station, onto which the weekly subscription is loaded.

Remember to bring a passport photo: it has to be stuck onto the card, and the ticket desk is where most travellers find that out.

One thing to check before you commit, because it changes everything: the weekly subscription runs Monday to Sunday, whatever day you buy it. A stay beginning early in the week uses it in full. A stay straddling two weeks — Thursday to Monday, say — would need two of them and loses all its appeal: single tickets are then the better bet.

Fares change from year to year, so compare at the time of your stay.

Paris-region transport fares change regularly. Check the current price on the Île-de-France Mobilités website or at the Bussy-Saint-Georges ticket office.

Do you need to come by car?

A car is useful for arriving and leaving, much less so for the park days themselves. Parking at Disneyland Paris costs €30 a day, while a return train journey comes to €5 per adult and drops you at the entrance.

If you do drive, parking is free around our apartments: green zone with a disc, provided in the apartment, and an unrestricted white zone three or four minutes away on foot. A space in a secure underground car park is also available depending on the apartment and availability.

Most of our guests leave the car parked for the whole stay and take the RER each morning.

FAQ

Is there a shuttle between Bussy-Saint-Georges and Disneyland?

No shuttle is needed: the RER A connects Bussy-Saint-Georges station directly to the park station, Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy, in 7 minutes and without changing trains. That is faster and more frequent than a shuttle.

Does the RER A run early enough for park opening?

Yes. Service begins well before the parks open, with trains every 10 to 15 minutes. Leaving the apartment about thirty minutes before opening time puts you at the gates in good time.

Is Bussy-Saint-Georges station accessible with a pushchair?

The station is a 4-minute walk from our apartments along ordinary streets. For the station’s own equipment — lifts, escalators — service can vary: the safest bet is to check on the day using a transport app, or to ask us, as we know the route well.

What does the journey cost for a family of four?

At €2.50 per adult and €1.25 for 4- to 9-year-olds, a return trip for two adults and two children of that age comes to €15. Under-4s travel free. That is half the price of a single day’s parking at the parks, charged at €30.
